Overview
BinGo's modular application approach allow Site Admins to tailor their site so users can see the right information, in the right workflow, to optimize the value their site provides. While modules are highly configurable, most customization follows a predictable pattern: choose what appears, decide who sees it, and define how it behaves. This guide breaks down each step so Site Amins can update modules and customize their site with confidence, while maintaining consistency and avoiding performance issues.
Understanding BinGo Modules
A module is a packaged block of site functionality - such as Analytics, User Management, or Reports.
A module contains:
Display settings (which modules appear on the site)
Data sources (where the information within each module comes from)
Permissions (who can see the module, and what they can do there)
Behavior (what function the module serves)
Each module can be enabled, disabled, reordered, or configured with module-level options. Think of modules as Lego blocks: each block works independently, but together they build your unique Bingo site.
Accessing BinGo Module Manager
You can manage modules from: Settings > Administration > Module Manager
You will see three primary areas:
Active Modules: features currently active within your site
Available Modules: features available with your company's BinGo subscription
Configuration Panel: options that control behavior, data exposure, and permissions
Enabling or Disabling Modules
Enable a Module:
Navigate to Available Modules
Select the module you want to activate
Click Enable Module
Review permissions (see Assigning Permissions)
Click Apply to save changes
š”Enabling a modules does not automatically give all users access. Permissions must be assigned in Module Manager > Configuration Panel > Assigning Permissions
Disable a Module:
Navigate to Active Modules
Select the module you want to disable
Click Disable Module
Review impact (users will lose module visibility, data may be lost)
Click Apply to save changes
š” Disabling a module does not delete data; it simply removes the module until reactivated. The exception to this rule is site re-implementations, which wipe all site data for a clean slate. See Re-Implementation of BinGo Site in the Admin Guide for more information.
Configuring Module Behavior
Each module includes the following configuration options:
Display Settings
Customize module name
Customize module icon
Select module order in navigation panel
Feature Toggles
Turn on/off advanced analytics in Insights
Allows or restrict ad-hoc reporting in Insights
Enable workflow automations
Data Controls
Enable or disable APIs
Enable or disable numerical rounding
Restrict custom data loading capabilities
Assigning Permissions
Permissions determine who can view, edit, or administer each module.
To assign permissions:
Navigate to Module Manager > Configuration Panel > Assigning Permissions.
Select module(s) you wish to assign permissions to
If you want to assign the same permissions to some or all of your modules at once, this bulk action is recommended to save time
Assign the Roles you would like to have access to each module. See Roles below for how each user type behaves in the system
Roles:
Restricted User: read-only users who can only access specific modules they are assigned to
Regular User: can access and edit specific modules they are assigned to
Module Admin: can access, edit, and administer specific modules they are assigned to
Site Admin: full access, edit, and administrative permissions over site
Common Issues and Likely Causes
User(s) Can't See the Module
Module is not enabled
User is not assigned to module
User permission set is undefined
User(s) See Data They Shouldn't
Role-level permission not properly assigned
Role-level permissions have not been assigned to module
š”If access needs to be immediately revoked, we recommend disabling the module while permissions are configured and tested.
